Guidelines for the parents

Parents are requested to work in complete co-operation with the Montessori trained adults of Little Scholars Montessori House of Children. Viewing the interest of the child, the parents are requested not to provide any other traditional method of teaching at home to avoid clash with Montessori Method.

Parental participation in the school is very important to us. Parent visits and feedback are important and welcome at all times.

School closure may result when there are severe weather conditions or any political or social bandhs.

Speaking to the adult/teacher at the time of dropping or while picking up your child or during school hours is not permitted. You must call the office and make prior appointment to meet the respective teacher at both conveniences.

Change in telephone numbers or address should be reported to the office immediately. Your child’s safety in the event of an emergency could depend on the accuracy of this information. Anything requiring our immediate attention has to be notified to the office. Once admission has been secured by paying the initial admission and term fees, there will be no refund for any reason that may be. Please check the child’s mails frequently for the correspondence and changes in plans. Children should be dressed in comfortable clothes. Preferably dresses that they can handle by themselves. Strictly no jeans. For birthday celebrations, we request the parent to give fruits or non-plastic articles as a return gift to the children and donate a simple book to the school library.

Health and safety

A child who is ill will not be permitted to attend school; a medical certificate may be requires for re-entry to the school after a lengthy illness or a communicable disease. Minor cuts or bruises are handled by the school’s staff and will be reported to you when the child is picked up. If your child becomes sick during the day, you will be informed and if necessary you will be required to arrange for your child to be picked up. Accidents requiring medical attention will be reported to you immediately. We will help you transport your child to our/your doctor. Do not make the child wear expensive jewellery to school. The school will not be responsible for any loss.

Field Trips and Picnics

Field trips will be scheduled on specific days. You will be notified well in advance. In case of illness please do not send your child. All children must dress up in their White tops and Blue bottoms with socks- shoes on the field trips, picnic or any outing.

Snacks and personal belongings

We believe that children need healthy food for their growth and development; hence snacks that are nutritional are always recommended. Please avoid chips, noodles, biscuits, and chocolates to school. Fruits are ideally preferred for snack time and children staying for longer session can bring precise lunch only in the steel boxes. Drinking water is not provided at school to avoid infections from child to child. Individual water bottles are preferable. With regard to personal belonging of the child the school will not be responsible for any property lost. To avoid such losses make sure that everything that the child carries are properly labelled.

Safe arrival

Children who come with you or an adult authorized by you must deliver them to Little Scholars staff.

Safe departure

Your child will be sent only with the adult who will possess the authorization card. If not, he/she will not be handed over. If the authorization card is lost then the school authorities must be informed, but a fee of Rs.100 will be charged for the same and a new card will be issued.

Absenteeism/ punctuality

Utmost importance is given, so parents are requested to pay special attention. A 10 mins grace time is provided for late arrivals and the gates will be closed at 9:10 a.m. Children below 4 years need to be picked at 12:00 p.m. sharp and children above 4 years to be. picked up at 03:00 p.m. sharp. Please notify the staff if your child is going to be absent for any reason. Children coming in school transport, we request the parents to inform us well in advance about the child’s absence for the school.


Holidays will coincide with those of other schools. All Saturday and Sundays are holidays.
